New LGH Case Study: Monopole Reinforcement Project in Manitoba

When Swift Underground performed pull tests on concrete rods for a monopole reinforcement project, LGH’s hydraulic rams were crucial in saving time and ensuring success.
Sal Signorino, Telecom Manager at Swift Underground, shared that this was their first experience with pull tests, which presented several challenges, including:
- Determining the correct ram size and load capacity
- Converting pressure (PSI) into force (kips) for accurate measurements
- Operating in extreme cold conditions (-30°C to -40°C)
Despite these hurdles, Swift Underground completed the tests and identified rods that did not meet performance standards.
